New York OCA Fee Increase

New York OCA Fee Increase with 2019-2020 Budget

Effective April 13th, 2019, all fees assessed by the NY OCA will now be $98. This is a $33 increase from the previous fee of $65 for statewide criminal history searches. New York Governor Cuomo signed the new budget which included the new OCA fee into law on Friday, April 12th, 2019. The reason for this fee increase is to fund indigent defense programs in the state of New York. After searching for alternative funding sources, no suitable option was found acceptable by Governor Cuomo. This fee increase is a compromise from the original $100 proposed by the Assembly and the Governor, who proposed $90.
