Security of information has become a major concern over the past year. While people have always been wary of sharing personal information over the internet, when Equifax was hacked last summer, it started an outcry for more security. More recently, the fear of how personal data is being used was brought to light with the Facebook data privacy scandal.
True Hire wants to ease your fears and answer questions about how we use our clients’ and their applicants’ data and how we keep it safe and protected. Considering all of the personal information we gather for background checks, our security protocol must be top-notch.
Secure Connections
The first step to protecting information online is establishing a secure connection. This is done through an SSL certificate. This is a certificate that a company purchases for its website. The issuing company verifies the company’s identity and confirms that the website does indeed belong to that company. The certificate also encrypts any data you or your applicant may enter on our website. An encryption basically scrambles the data, so no one can steal it while it’s being sent from your computer to our secure web server.
True Hire’s websites are 100 percent secure! This includes our main website, the client portal and the applicant portal.
Secure Servers & Communication
Background checks require personal information, which is nothing to mess around with. In 2017 there were 16.7 million victims of identity fraud, a record high. We understand and appreciate the sensitivity of the data we work with every day, so we have serious security in place.
